Just a week after the Movement Control Order (MCO) was lifted in Malaysia, I have the urged to breath the fresh air that I was needed after two months of trap in home. The first place I would think of going is the Sumiran Eco-Camp which is just open to public recently.
This camp is actually open quite a few years back for Program Latihan Khidmat Negara (PLKN). No wonder is you go inside there you will see a flying fox for visitors.
Where is the Sumiran Eco-Camp Located?
Approximately 15 kilometres for the heart of Kuching, you need to drive away to Batu Kawa-Bau road. It is the same highway as the Borneo Happy Farm.
The size of the camp is pretty big. The first main attraction of this camp is actually the public can do an overnight camping over here. If you love camping and would like to feel the night in the forest, then this place is definitely for you.
Camping Site
As you can see there are numbers of camping tent provided for campers. I actually not sure who provided these, but I would guess that they are Sumiran’s.
Wildlife
The owner of the camp is adding more value to the camp. He/she is putting in some animals for the visitors to look at. But, at the time I was there, the animals were not diverse I could think of. I saw journalist taking photographs and gathered near some horses which I tend to think that this camp is about to do some marketing to it’s newly open for public phase.
Other Facilities in Sumiran Eco-Camp
Flying fox is one of the main attacttions there. You will fly through a pond to reach the ond of the activity. I am so sorry since I totally forgot to take the photos of the flying fox.
Besides the fying fox, you can fly a kite at the camp, which I do not think that it interest me at that moment.
There is a canteen for you to buy some food though, so you do not have to worry of starving. The camp itself is located just next to Sungai Sarawak when you can take some photos of yourself there.
Why the lame headline?
I am trying not to give a lame headline of Sumiran Eco-Camp but I was there when the camp is just open to Public. There are a lot of activities that they will announce to hotspot goers like us. I believe that there will be more exciting features annouce there and I will definitely go there for the second time.
But I think it is always a good idea to be the first to review and look that how many people areg going to disagree. Well, if you are one othem, let me know your input by dropping a comment at the section below.
thank you for your sharing..it sounds like very interesting place and I am planning to go.
