FB ads CPC targeting Malaysian

When it comes to promoting your businesses online, you will come across dozens of digital advertising techniques offered by different companies. So two days ago, I was trying out Facebook ads for the first time to see how much does it cost to bring one visitor to this blog.

Before I explain further, I would like to stress that I do not targeting any returns from the spending. This is because I plan to make a cost comparison between Facebook ads and Google Ads. The amount of money that was spent is RM40 where the advertisement runs for two consecutive days.

Using FB Ads CPC

For this advertising campaign, the niche that I am targeting or the keyword is gold investment, in general. Below are some other settings that took place:

  • Age: 21 – 45 years
  • Gender: Men and Women
  • Targeting: I was targeting Malaysian using the FB Ads CPC

My Intention

Basically, if they click at the advertisement, they will be directed to my Hellogold review post. At the blog post I included a promo code to claim RM5 worth of gold if they buy a minimum of RM50 using the app.

Advertisement Performance

How was the result? Of course people are looking on the return on investment (ROI) when it involves in the marketing expenditure. See the screenshot below on my specific FB ads CPC which targeting Malaysian potential customers.

FB ads performance

To summarize, the cost per click is RM0.40 (roughly) and for RM40, I can bring up to 90 person to my blog post. I got 3 post reaction during the promotion period.

Ads audiences

More than 6,000 people at least have seen the ads. Interestingly, most are women, are in to gold investment in Malaysia.

Worth to note

Before you make the result of this FB ads CPC as your future reference, you must bare in mind that all pointers could be different based on these indicators:

  • Niche/Keyword: some niches with very high competition will cost you more and vice versa
  • Geo-targeting: cost varies depending on location you are targeting
  • I do not sure whether the age and gender make any impact on the cost per click.
  • Same goes to the number of days the advertisement is running

Let assume that, RM0.40 is the lowest cost to bring a visitor to your website, you can now estimate how many people you could potentially get depends on the money you would like to spend on Facebook Ads. I hope this post can give you a rough view before you spend actual money on digital marketing.

With more than 10 years of working experiences, I find myself to be a dynamic person who adapts to the changes of working environment. Even though I am multitasking, I do not consider myself as an expert in the niche of what I do. Nevertheless, I believe I have a fair amount of knowledge that many people might find very useful.
